About Alexandra

Alexandra is a UK trained Podiatrist and arrived in Hong Kong in 2007. She graduated from the University of Leicester in 1996 with a BSc (Hons) Podiatry. In 1999, she completed postgraduate qualifications in Education (the University of Wolverhampton) and in 2006, she attained an MSc in Diabetes (the University of Roehampton). Alexandra continues to be a registrant of the Health and Care Professions Council, United Kingdom to ensure that her clients have confidence and security in her care.  

Alexandra has had an accomplished career in all facets of Podiatric Medicine which include Clinical Tutor for the undergraduate Podiatry degree for University of Sunderland specialising in Biomechanics and Paediatrics.  Before moving to Hong Kong she worked as the Chief Podiatrist in a NHS Hospital Trust in North Kent and was Podiatry Advisor for the NHS Modernisation Agency at the Department of Health.  On arriving in Hong Kong she took a position as Research Podiatrist for the Hong Kong Hospital Authority.  She has published in local and international professional journals as well as in popular media, such as The Wall Street Journal and South China Morning Post.   

As a Podiatrist, Alexandra believes strongly in an holistic approach for her patients  utilising current evidence based practice. This is further enhanced by Alexandra’s commitment and passion for working within a multidisciplinary team so that her clients receive the best care possible. 

Over a career spanning 25years Alexandra has continued to develop her clinical skills and specialist knowledge.  She has undertaken specialist training in Diabetes and Paediatrics. Within Diabetes, Alex has successfully managed the most complex diabetic lower limb conditions and has specialist knowledge in wound care.   

Alexandra has a special interest in paediatric particularly working with children with special needs. She provides a screening service to ensure appropriate developmental milestones are attained. This can also assist in early detection of potential musculoskeletal problems related to the lower leg. 

Alexandra treats the full spectrum of Podiatric conditions, including paediatrics, gait analysis, biomechanics of the lower limb, sports injuries, orthotic management, nail surgery, fungal nail infections, diabetic foot care including wound management as well as corns and callus management.
